About

Jessica Lee Wilkes is no stranger to the spotlight.  Her EP Lone Wolf (June 2015, Free Dirt Records) may be her debut release, but for the past five years she’s been a key member of the JD Wilkes & The Dirt Daubers, penning songs, sharing lead vocal duties, and playing a critical role in furthering the groove and swagger the band is known for via her dynamic stage presence and skills on upright bass.

But with Lone Wolf, Jessica Lee Wilkes trades in her upright for an electric bass, and takes over center stage; her empowering aura and skillful musicianship continue, leaving no question of her rightful place as a commanding front woman. The five song EP takes Jessica's raw rock ‘n roll edge to new heights and scorches you with the fire of a fearless femme fatale.  Hearkening back to classic 50s rock ‘n roll and rhythm and blues, Jessica injects these forms with an energy and vigor that shake the dust off a classic sound.  Complete with swinging brass parts, surf-inspired guitar licks, and punchy handclaps, Lone Wolf is an infectiously timeless record.

Based in Paducah, KY, Jessica has won over many a famous fan throughout her musical career, including rock legend Wanda Jackson, Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys, along with JD McPherson and his band; in fact, Jason Smay, drummer in McPherson's band, recorded drums on Lone Wolf, while guitar parts were provided by celebrated rockabilly guitarist Eddie Angel of Los Straitjackets.

2016 will see Jessica continuing to pound the pavement with her touring band (electric guitar, electric bass, saxophone, drums). The Lone Wolf Tour has already made its way through much of the Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic USA, including shows opening for acts such as JD McPherson, The Bellfuries and Legendary Shack Shakers.

Jessica Lee Wilkes Releases Her Debut Solo Album "Lone Wolf", an Infectious Rhythm 'n Blues Tinged Rock 'n Roll EP

Lone Wolf, the debut release from Jessica Lee Wilkes, will scorch you with the fire of a fearless femme fatale.  Hearkening back to 1950s rock ‘n roll and rhythm and blues, Wilkes injects these forms with a raw vigor that shakes the dust off a classic sound. The 5-song EP finds Jessica belting through heavy grooving numbers featuring an accomplished studio band: Jason Smay (JD McPherson) on drums, Eddie Angel (Los Straitjackets) on guitar, Kellie Everett (The Hooten Hallers) on saxophone, and Jessica on electric bass.

Complete with swinging brass parts, surf-inspired guitar licks, and punchy handclaps, Lone Wolf is an infectiously timeless record, and picks up where Jessica left off as bassist and co-lead vocalist for The Dirt Daubers. She took an integral role in the band’s seismic shift to a hard-driving rock ‘n roll and blues outfit, penning originals and taking center stage on tour.  With Lone Wolf, her empowering aura and skillful musicianship continues, leaving no question of her rightful place as a commanding front woman.

Based in Paducah, KY, Jessica has won over many a famous fan throughout her musical career, including rock legend Wanda Jackson, Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys, along with JD McPherson and his band.

2015 marks a new chapter in Jessica's music career, with Lone Wolf set to release June 16, and Jessica hitting the road with her touring band (Preston Corn on drums, Wyatt Maxwell on guitar) across the USA this Spring and Summer. With a recent performance at the Rhythm N’ Blooms Festival under her belt, Jessica and her band are slated to perform at Lower Town Music & Arts Festival, along with plenty more club and festival dates to be announced soon.
